About one day retreats
A retreat day provides the opportunity to ‘retreat’ in a positive sense from the hurly burly of everyday life – to experience a range of guided practices throughout the day in a safe and nurturing environment. Participants invariably find their experience of mindfulness substantially richer during these events. Much of the day is held in silence with opportunities to share at the beginning and end.
Retreat days are for anyone who has attended an eight week course either with us or elsewhere, or who already has an established mindfulness practice and would like to spend a day going a little deeper.
There’s no need to bring any ‘equipment’ along – there are mats, cushions, blankets, stools etc for those who may want to use them – but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. It is advisable to wear comfy layers of clothing for ease of movement and to adjust for temperature throughout the day. There will be opportunity to do walking meditation out of doors so please bring appropriate shoes and a coat if necessary. Drinks, biscuits etc are provided. Please bring something to share for lunch together.
